Cooperteam announces the release of Desktop Manager Version 2.6 - for Lotus Notes Client Management, Administration and Configuration (02 April 2009)

Reducing the demands of manual or repetitive administration of Lotus Notes clients has long been the priority at Cooperteam and this is even more so in the context of today's economic circumstances. Keeping productivity, reliability, and Client performance at the highest levels just got even easier with the latest release of Desktop Manager. Based on years of real-world customer feedback, Desktop Manager 2.6 provides Client automation beyond what is available within the native Lotus Notes administration client, giving you superior control of the Lotus Notes clients as well as efficient management of consolidation or other projects.
The comprehensive Audit feature in Desktop Manager 2.6 enables Administrators to make any required changes without risk. Desktop Manager 2.6 provides a background audit execution feature to ensure users can continue their work while Desktop Manager collects the data you need.
With Desktop Manager 2.6, you can truly do more with less effort. Desktop Manager is designed to reduce the need to provide immediate assistance to end users by preventing the majority of obvious self-induced errors. Many roaming user networks benefit from Desktop Manager's automated backup and restore system for key Lotus Notes users' files such as Names, Bookmarks, Notes.ini's, etc.
Monitor the progress of your consolidation projects or server moves with Desktop Manager Project to ensure that you are in control of both processes and costs at all times. Desktop Manager 2.6 provides a Move Database function to automate the reconfiguration of the Lotus Notes client when databases have been moved from one server to another. Other new features and enhancements in the 2.6 release include better support for even larger environments and roaming users; improved agent execution; an improved administration interface; more language options; and a new Hook Event Technology that hooks into Lotus Notes events to prevent certain end user behavior, such as sending large emails or specific file attachments.
Kim Le, a Lotus Notes and Domino Architect at ARKEMA, notes "Thanks to Desktop Manager we quickly identified groups of users with a configuration which were uncharacteristic or otherwise incompatible with the standard migration process. Once identified, we pushed the automatic and individual modification via Desktop Manager. This has saved us countless unnecessary re-work and end user frustration."
Desktop Manager is a product of the Desktop Management Suite which also includes:
Desktop Project : To monitor and manage your server consolidation and user migration projects.
Desktop Manager 2.6 preview was presented at Lotusphere Orlando in January 2009.
